Best XI Third Week Premier League 2017-2018: Liverpool Contribute 3 Names
The third week of the Premier League has rolled, with most big teams winning, except Arsenal who humiliated by Liverpool with a score of 4-0. And here is the best team third weekend Premier League, as reported by ESPN.
Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel. Petr Cech did show a good performance to prevent Arsenal from conceding eight goals in the game against Liverpool. However Kasper Schmeichel became a special goalkeeper in the third week despite failing to save his team from defeat. His rescue while thwarting Romelu Lukaku’s penalty became one of his best stints in the match against Manchester United.
Defender: Nicolas Otamendi. Argentina’s defender is reliable in Manchester City’s defense. He became the much-needed defender of The Citizens to secure their three points. And his role at the end of the match against superb Bournemouth also deserves appreciation.
Defender: Phil Jones. The future of Jones has been the subject of speculation over the summer, but he has proven his worth when Manchester United started the season perfectly. Against Leicester, he is at the top of his performance and playing slick on the Red Devils defense.
Defender: Charlie Daniels. Bournemouth appear solid in front of Manchester City and had a superior first thanks to a goal from Daniels. Although the status as a defender, but Daniels still have a killing instinct when in front of the opponent’s goal. A special performance from him even though Bournemouth eventually suffered defeat.
Left wing: Mohamed Salah. The presence of players from Egypt is really make Liverpool as if not missed the absence of Philippe Coutinho. Speed, goals and trickery is a boon for Liverpool, and Arsenal has no answer to deal with it.
Midfielder: Cesc Fabregas. After being sent off in Chelsea’s defeat in the match against Burnley and missing the match against Tottenham Hotspur, Cesc Fabregas returned with a beat. He played brilliantly to help Chelsea win a convincing victory over Everton.
Midfielder: Paul Pogba. Once again, Paul Pogba showed excellent performances in midfield Manchester United. Perhaps the biggest change at Manchester United this season is how Jose Mourinho has found a way to get the best performance from Paul Pogba. He plays an important role in everything his team does well. Extraordinary midfielder.
Midfielder: Jordan Henderson. Liverpool’s performance in the game against Arsenal is much influenced by their front-line sharpness. But Jordan Henderson also played nicely in their midfield, where he was able to set the rhythm of his team play, and did not allow Arsenal midfield to master the field comfortably.
Right wing: Raheem Sterling. Twice in six days Raheem Sterling showed his crucial role for Manchester City and scored a goal that changed the game. After his goal against Bournemouth, no doubt he became an important player for Pep Guardiola for this season.
Striker: Alvaro Morata. Morata showed an excellent performance for Chelsea as they knocked out Everton on Sunday. The former Real Madrid and Juventus players scored one goal and created another goal to silence the Toffees who were in high confidence.
Striker: Roberto Firmino. Many players deserve to fill this position, such as Joselu, Tammy Abraham, and Gabriel Jesus. But Roberto Firmino deserves to be elected after showing a special performance in the game against Arsenal. He scored, scored another goal and was at the heart of an admirable Liverpool attack.
Manager: Jose Mourinho. Jurgen Klopp showed his quality in concocting tactics in the game against Arsenal, where he made Arsene Wenger look like a mediocre manager with a four-goal win without reply. But Jose Mourinho no less captivating. He saw his team go through a deadlock in the game against Leicester City, and made two substitutions which led to two goals. (Source: ESPN)
